Daily Wireless News & Updates.- NTT DoCoMo said it transmitted data at 2.5 Gbps to a moving vehicle using MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) technology. The tests are part of the Japanese operator's research into fourth-generation mobile technology. The vehicle, however, was traveling at 12 mph. MIMO, which sends data using multiple antennas, is emerging as the key enabler of super fast data speeds. It is an integral part of the 802.11n WiFi standard and will be an important development in the 3G standards-making process going forward. Look for lots of patents filed on this one.
