WIRELESS NEWS: Wireless tool for Linux

By Daily Wireless Updates, Power by Cogni360

Daily Wireless News & Updates.- Given that today's f"how-to" focuses on a major Linux wireless effort, I thought it would be good to provide some links and resources focused solely on building a wireless network on top of a Linux or other open-source infrastructure. This Hewlett-Packard site, Wireless Tools For Linux, provides dozens and dozens of links to resources, code bits, code mechanisms and other supporting elements. While supported by HP, it features contributions from Linux advocates and users worldwide. The site kicks off with the Wireless Extension, a generic API allowing a driver to expose to the user space configuration and statistics specific to common Wireless LANs. Then there is the Wireless Tools set, which lets you manipulate the Wireless Extensions. For more telecom news go to: Telecommunicate and Daily WiFi News.
